From the conclusion: Efforts are needed to educate pharmacists about their roles in syringe access and how their actions can benefit the health of the entire population. Concerns or misconceptions that pharmacists have about IDUs, SEPs, blood-borne diseases, and the interpretation of state and federal laws regarding syringe sales must be addressed. Providing this education will help increase pharmacist participation in this crucial public health activity.
